Wedding date… Friday 6th June 2014
We met…On holiday in Rye when we were teenagers.
The proposal…Chris popped the question in Brighton at Hotel Du Vin.
I knew he was ‘the one’… Straight away. It was love at first sight.
Length of engagement… 14 months.
Our wedding photographer was… Debbie Sanderson Wedding Photography. They are local to Rye and we really wanted them to shoot our wedding in Italy. They were amazing to work with, it felt like they were guests. Everyone loved them and the pictures are amazing. We were over the moon.
My dress was… Mandy by Augusta Jones. I tried a few dresses in several shops before I tried a couple in Bath in a shop called Crystal Brides. It was the first one I tried and I just knew.
My hair and make-up… I wanted my hair up, a stylist called Lauren Louise Hair and Design did my trail in England and I took the pictures so a stylist in Italy could copy it. I did my own make-up.
My two bridesmaids wore… Lace vintage style dresses from Monsoon and Coast; nothing too hot but pretty.
Our wedding ceremony was… In the town hall gardens at Ravello in Italy. It was a civil ceremony with close friends and family, around 30 guests. It was the most beautiful setting overlooking the sea, the weather was amazing. It was just perfect!
The best man… And the groom wore blue made to measure suits from Moss Bros.
Did anything funny or unusual happen at your wedding? Lots of things I can’t repeat. But one funny thing was when a group of Irish lads in the square wanted me to to throw my bouquet for them, which made an amusing photograph.
Our favourite part of the wedding was… Walking through the streets and market square of Ravello to the town hall. All the locals wishing me well and smiling, it was magical.
Our wedding reception was… On a balcony overlooking the coast at Villa Maria. Our wedding coordinator in England recommended it.
Our wedding theme was… Pastel colours with a slightly vintage look.
Our wedding was unique and special because… Being in Ravello was just amazing and the fact that it was just close friends and family, I could really enjoy the day with no pressure.
Our first dance was… Stay with me by John Legend
What is your advice for other brides? Go abroad and make it small and intimate.
Our honeymoon was… To San Fransico, we travelled down to the west coast. I would highly recommend.
