Nicola and Craig said ‘I do’ on the stunning Sunset Pier at the Elias Beach Hotel, where the team were able to give the happy couple a wedding of a life time. This week’s real wedding has everything you’d expect from a destination wedding and so much more, the Scottish themed affair is beautifully enhanced by the natural backdrop of Cyprus, the clear blue skies and the glistening ocean. Congratulations again to our gorgeous couple.
Bride and Groom… Nicola and Craig
Wedding date… Monday 14th April 2014
We met… In high school, we were together for a year but then split when we went to university. We got back together 6 years later.
The proposal… We’d been together for 5 years when Craig popped the question on St Andrews Beach where we’d taken Broxy for a walk. We ended up rushing home to tell everyone about the proposal.
Length of engagement… 2 years
How did Confetti.co.uk help in your big day? I ordered our wedding favours, the fans to keep the guests cool, and all the table name cards, and decorations. Confetti was very helpful, it helped us choose the ceremony reading for the grooms sister, which took place just before the Civil Ceremony on the Sunset Pier!
My dress was… By La Sposa. I tired on 5 dresses before the sales assistant brought me the ‘one’ dress, I’d already seen it in a magazine and knew it was the one! I tried it on and it was just perfect. My mum and Katie; my bridesmaid both cried when they saw me
Our bridesmaid and groomsmen were… Katie my sister in law and Craig’s best friend for the last 20 years was his best man.
For the groom… We hired a kilt and chose a grey spirit coloured tartan.
Our wedding ceremony was… Held at the Sunset Pier at the Elias Beach hotel, Cyprus, it’s a very unique venue. I always wanted to get married right on the beach but knew I wouldn’t be able to wear my heels so Sunset Pier was the perfect venue as we were right by the sea! We had 30 guests. The most memorable moment was walking down the aisle and seeing a cardboard cut-out of our dog Broxy sitting amongst the guests.
Did anything funny or unusual happen at your wedding? It was funny to see a cardboard cut-out of our dog Broxy at the ceremony.
Our favourite part of the wedding was… All of it! It was just perfect and amazing! I couldn’t fault anything, the service, the reception, the dinner, it was all perfect. The staff couldn’t have done any more for us!
Our wedding photographer was… Photo Papis & Sons Ltd
Our wedding reception… Was held at Blue Paradise. It was such a perfect wedding venue, exactly how I pictured it. The weather was great and helped make my dream come true.
Our wedding colour was… Cerulean blue. As we are both Scottish we wanted to include this in our wedding, the men from both sides of the family wore kilts and we also had a traditional Scottish piper who was arranged directly by the Elias Beach hotel.
Our wedding was unique and special because… Of the unique wedding venue, having our families and close friends with us and of course the cut-out of our dog Broxy. Our bridesmaid Katie had organised a luxury Limousine to pick us up from the airport, a wonderful start to our wedding. The whole team at Elias Beach Hotel did a fantastic job they made us feel really special.
Our honeymoon was… To New York, Las Vegas and Mexico for 2 weeks.
