How and when did you meet?
We met in Paris in a conference in 2003. We saw each other again in 2005 and then we finally got together in September 2006.
How old are you both?
Justin is 31 and I am 33.
Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?
In Buenos Aires, Argentina, in a nice hotel, with champagne, white roses…
Did you have hen and stag celebrations? If so, what did you do?
I had a great hen party organized by my friends in Madrid in October last year. I was dressed like a princess we went to a flamenco class in famous place with a good teacher. We had dinner at a cool funky restaurant with live music, instead of tables you’re sitting on big white beds, the food was excellent!
How did your groom help with the wedding planning?
Just by being there on the wedding day :).
Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?
I bought several items from confetti for our wedding.
Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?
I ordered several products online.
Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it
I bought it in London in London Bride Couture, is a dress called Versailles from Ian Stuart, it is very lovely.
Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?
I had 7 bridesmaids. They wore peach dresses, I bought the fabric and they picked the model, each of them wore a different kind of dress, all super classy and stylish.
Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?
They wore very nice suits we rented for them. He had 3 best men and 6 Ushers.
Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?
Both, we got married in Argentina so you have to have a civil ceremony first, and the next day we had the catholic ceremony.
Where did you hold your ceremony?
In Argentina. We had a civil wedding on December 17th at a friend’s farm with loads of good food, good wine and we ended up jumping into the swimming pool! The religious ceremony was held at the church were I went to school in Argentina, beautiful and super nice.
Where did you hold your reception?
At a place called Sociedad Rural, in Argentina too. The party started at 9 pm and ended at 9 am the next morning.
Did you have any special wedding transport?
Yes, we hired shuttles to transport people from hotels to the civil ceremony place and to the church and venue the next day.
How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?
120 people. We didn’t have separate lists.
Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?
The theme were stars and the colour was peach/salmon.
How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?
We had a nice centrepiece which was tall with peach lilliums and roses. There were disposable cameras and stars and diamond scattered over the tables. Per person we had: little champagne bottles with our names, a little peach bag with sugar almonds inside and a card with the name of the guest…
Did you give your guests favours?
Yes, to the foreigners (all Europeans) a typical Argentinean Mate tea pot with the straw and to the Argentineans a little English tea pot with a tea bag with our names on it
Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?
My bouquet was with white orchids and peach roses in a drop shape. The table’s centrepieces were with roses and liliums all in the theme of peach and ivory colours.
What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?
We had loads of food. A reception with many different meats, vegetables, canapes, etc. Then a starter (typical Argentinean) then a second (Argentinean beef) and dessert. We had a huge cake and dessert table after around 2 hours of the dessert and pizza later on…
What did you choose for your wedding cake, and who made it?
A person made it for us, it was huge, with many levels and very carefully made.
Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?
We had tango dancers and two bands, a jazz band and a pop band.
Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?
We didn’t do a gift list.
Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?
Honeymoon in Patagonia. Our first night was at a nice hotel.
What was your most memorable moment of the day?
The arrival, when all the people were gathered waiting for us… But the whole party was great.
Did you experience any “nightmare” moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?
Some… It rained a lot (after 6 months of complete draught).
Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?
Not at all!
