Adele showed off a huge diamond ring on her engagement finger at The BRIT Awards on Tuesday evening – leading to the inevitable question: “is Adele engaged?”
The pear-shaped diamond sat pretty on her ring finger as fans took to social media to speculate that the 33-year-old singer is engaged to her sports agent boyfriend, Rich Paul.
Is Adele Engaged?
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: “ADELE OH MY GOD wait a min- is she engaged? Did I miss something?” while someone else said: “Ermm… Did Adele just casually let the world know she’s engaged to Rich Paul by wearing this WHOPPER teardrop diamond ring at the #Brits”.
Another added: “So Adele is engaged again? I feel another album coming on.”
Adele and Rich Paul have been in a relationship since early 2021 and met two years prior at a party. The ‘Hello’ singer previously described her romance with him as being the most “incredible, openhearted, and easiest” one she’s ever been in.
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine back in November last year, she said: “I didn’t really tell many of my friends at the beginning because I wanted to keep it to myself.”
Adele’s current album, 30, is centred around her split from her ex-husband Simon Konecki.
Adele’s Engagement Ring
A representative for the celeb-loved jeweller Lorraine Schwartz has confirmed that Adele is wearing a ring from the designer’s collection.
Following the news of Adele’s engagement, aesthetics and cosmetic surgery specialists, Vera Clinic has revealed the most searched-for diamond shapes and celebrity engagement ring styles. Looking into the most popular engagement ring trends, the aesthetics and cosmetic surgery specialists found that Adele’s pear engagement ring is the second most searched for shape, following the emerald shape with 49,500 monthly searches.
Speaking about the research, aesthetics expert and CMO at Vera Clinic, Waleed Taleb commented: “With high profile celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, Cardi B, Bella Thorne and of course Adele showing off stunning pear-shaped engagement ring diamonds, it’s no surprise searches for them have surged.
“Cuts such as the trilliant and baguette are much more old fashioned, with less and less famous people wearing them, and therefore less interest sparked. The round cut engagement ring will always stay a classic, in my opinion, meaning it won’t top the list of most searched, but will always be up there with a good amount of interest”.
And Adele wasn’t the only celebrity engagement announced on the red carpet. TV personality, Maya Jama, also flashed her engagement ring for the first time at the BRITs last night. The ‘Walk the Line’ presenter got engaged to basketballer boyfriend Ben Simmons over Christmas but has been keeping her engagement news under wraps. Again, the rumour-mill went into overdrive that Maya Jama’s engagement ring is worth £600k.
