The big day is nearly upon us and we’re willing to bet we’re even more excited than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are! If you’re hyped too, here are some of the most exciting ways to celebrate the royal wedding…
A Royal Wedding Party at Home
A party at home is the best way to celebrate the royal wedding on a budget – stock up on bunting (like the New Look bunting below!), Pimms and serve up a feast of American and British treats to celebrate the union of Harry and Meghan.
We’ve got some exciting royal wedding cocktail recipes for you to make here.
Royal Wedding Afternoon Tea
Celebrate the royal wedding in Windsor – where it’s all taking place – with a themed afternoon tea at Bel & The Dragon. You can tuck into traditional hand-cut finger sandwiches, and sample a lemon and elderflower drizzle cake, inspired by the royal wedding cake.
Honeymoon Inspired by the Royal Couple
Honeymoon company Sandals are helping you to celebrate the royal wedding with their new wedding inspiration, called ‘English Royalty’. It’s inspired by the royals and their time in the Caribbean.
Available for purchase beginning 14th May for weddings taking place as soon as September, English Royalty was designed for brides and grooms who seek to infuse classic and royal hues into their celebration, as well as regal accents like purple, perennial emerald green, and the new classic, blush – a favourite of the bride-to-be based on her recent fashion choices. Cake with a Crown
Heading to MOD Pizza during the week of the royal wedding? You can enjoy their famous ‘No Name Cake’, which has been upgraded for the celebrations with its own crown, and comes free with every pizza or salad purchase.
Bottomless Brunch
Here at Confetti HQ, we love a bottomless brunch. Toast to the happy couple on their big day by heading to Las Iguanas and enjoying two courses and unlimited Prosecco for £24.95 from 11am to 2pm on 19th May.
Free Prosecco at Giggling Squid
Named Harry or Meghan? Now is your time to shine – anyone with ID showing that their name is either Harry or Meghan will get a free glass of Prosecco at Giggling Squid – cheers!
A Right Royal Knees Up Drag Brunch
Into a different kind of queen? Celebrate in style on Saturday with the drag brunch at the Book Club in East London. You can play bingo with a Spice Girl as you watch the royal wedding on the big screen and enjoy ginger-themed cocktails. It’s taking place from 10am – 5pm and costs £5 to attend.
Celebrate the Royal Wedding at a Rooftop Chapel
Kind of wish the big day was all about you? Make it so with the Marry your Mates event at the Queen of Hoxton’s Lost Vegas Rooftop Chapel. This super cool London venue is allowing you to ‘marry’ whoever you choose in a ceremony conducted by Drag King Elvis from 1pm – 7pm. Enjoy British inspired cocktails, an American blow-out menu and party the afternoon away with a silent disco. Tickets are £5 adv, or £8 on the door.
Throwback Wedding Disco
Everyone loves a cheesy wedding disco, and what better way to honour royal party boy Harry than with a royal wedding disco? Taking place at Hoxton Square Bar, DJ Sophie Lloyd will be playing all the throwback classics. Free before 8pm, £5 adv or £8 on the door.
