In honour of Valentine’s Day and the celebration of all things love we are thrilled to share the news of an extra special marriage with you all.
2018 had a lot of celebrity weddings, but 2019 has topped that list already!
Ferrari and Pringle, both resident celebrity penguins at Heythrop Zoological Gardens, joined together in a civil partnership. The happy couple have been added to the list of very prestigious celebrity ceremonies including the likes of Elton John and Ellen Degeneres.
Their wedding day was a sought after event, the lovebirds had a team of hair and makeup artists and their own dressers to help prepare them for their big day.
Trainer Jess, who walked Pringle down the aisle to meet his groom, said: “Ferrari and Pringle make a beautiful couple. I see them every day at the zoo and when they are apart, they cry and pine for each other. It is so cute and heart-warming to watch them.
“They are both very cheeky characters with bubbly and infectious personalities. I hope they have a fun and happy life together.”
Celebrated with a crowd of emotional relatives and well-wishers, the wedding, which took place at Merriscourt in Chipping Norton, went down a treat with a selection of delicious fish awaiting the newlyweds.
The penguins were anything but camera shy as they posed for pictures in their super cute bow ties.
Wedding photographer Rob, part of The Wedding Video Company team, said: “We’ve captured the special day for hundreds of happy couples but I can honestly say, hand on heart, that nothing can prepare you for a celebrity penguin wedding. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
“From the moment Ferrari and Pringle entered the room you knew it was going to be special. Who doesn’t like a bit of bling and glamour on their wedding day? They even managed to sing along to ‘I Will Survive’ at the top of their voice!”
The couple were read their vows and later signed the register with two footprints.
Congratulations to the penguin pals who are hopefully still celebrating their life partnership back at the zoo!
