Check out this Costa Coffee wedding dress! Costa Coffee has created coffee-inspired wedding dresses to celebrate the launch of their new “Whipped Milk”, which is the perfect finishing flourish to their range of iced coffee drinks. “Whipped Milk” is described as “an aerated skimmed milk foam topping” that gives “a silky mouth-feel” while topping drinks with “an elegant meringue-like appearance”, and we can certainly see the influence in these wedding dresses.
The couture collection was made in collaboration with designer Kate Tabor, who has designed costumes for music icons such as Katy Perry and Kylie Minogue. The dresses draw notable inspiration from renowned designers Alexander McQueen and Iris Van Herpen, and Kate began creating the dresses by first sketching designs, experimenting with delicate foams, and then crafting robust neoprene shells to help support and structure each design. The process took over three weeks, 20 metres of wetsuit material, and 12 metres of foam.
“Each dress is bespoke,” Kate said. “From a flirty minidress to an edgy asymmetric design and a classic, full-length bridal number; all were inspired by the texture of Whipped Milk and the way it is poured. I’ve created innovative costumes for everyone from David Bowie to The Chemical Brothers, but I’ve never designed anything as challenging or unique as Costa Coffee’s Whipped Milk Couture.”
Costa Coffee’s Master of Coffee, Gennaro Pelliccia, added: “Whipped Milk is Costa Coffee’s must-have summer drink addition, inviting coffee-lovers to enjoy their favourite hot choices as refreshing chilled drinks, perfect for the scorching weather we’ve been enjoying. Coffee fans don’t even have to wait for Whipped Milk to make it from the catwalk to the high street, it’s already whipping up a storm in store now!”
