Huge congratulations are in order for EastEnders actress Louisa Lytton and her partner Ben Bhanvra, who just got engaged in the Maldives – lucky for some!
Louisa, who plays Ruby Allen in EastEnders, took to Instagram to share her amazing news, posting a photo of the moment Ben got down on one knee in the middle of the clear blue Maldivian sea, alongside a snap of her delicate engagement ring.

While the proposal looks absolutely picture perfect, it didn’t go quite to plan…
In an interview with OK! Magazine, Ben revealed: ‘I took Louisa to a quiet part of the island where I knew no one else would be around. I told her I wanted to fly my drone to get some aerial pictures of the island, although really I wanted it to capture a video of the moment I proposed.”
“As soon as I got it up in the air and reached to get the ring from the bag a cleaner walked past and was so mesmerised by the drone he was just stood next to us staring at it for ages. I had to wait for him to leave. The cleaner finally disappeared so I got a speaker out of my bag that I was going to use to play a song for when I proposed but the Wi-Fi signal was bad so I couldn’t get it to play.”
Despite all the unexpected interruptions, when he finally managed to get the words out, Louisa burst into delighted tears before saying yes.
Ben also took to Instagram to share his joy, writing: “So I guess we’ve got a wedding to plan…” alongside a snap of Louisa covering her face with her brand new jewellery.
Since sharing her photos online, the couple has been inundated with well wishes from fellow celebs including Love Island’s Amber, Louisa’s EastEnders co-stars Tamzin Outhwaite and Tilly Keeper, who plays Louise Mitchell, Saturdays singer Vanessa White, The Wanted’s Tom Parker, and Hollyoaks actor Gary Lucy.
The couple plan to get married in 2021, so they have plenty of time to get planning – you know where we are if you need planning advice, Louisa!
