We’ve all heard about the trend for avocado engagement rings, but what if you’re a bit sick of avocados now? Cut-price retailer Poundland have stepped into the breach with an innovative proposal idea.
They’ve launched a range of engagement rings – just in time for Valentine’s Day – and you’ve guessed it! They cost £1.
Before you close your browser in outrage, hear us out! Whilst we’re not suggesting your forever ring costs a quid, this is a great idea for someone who is looking for proposal ideas. It’s an affordable way to pop the question, and allows for you to go and choose the ring together afterwards.
There are four different designs in the Bling Ring range. They all feature cubic zirconia and are available in both silver and gold colourways with a choice of centre stones, resembling diamonds, rubies or topaz, depending on your beloved’s tastes.
Poundland have even put together some handy tips for those planning to propose on Valentine’s Day:
Make It Real
This is the real thing. Get down on one knee, the whole nine yards – it’s a placeholder ring, not a placeholder proposal!
Size Matters
Get the right ring…just because it isn’t real doesn’t mean it doesn’t need to look impressive
Don’t Apologise
Yes, it’s a placeholder ring, but own it – they’re getting the best deal, two rings AND they get to choose their own rock later. Win win!
Promise Big
Use the Poundland placeholder to promise something bigger down the line – a promise ring, but for grown-ups, we’re not using Haribo, kids.
Right Place, Right Time
Choose the right place to pop the question. The wow factor is a must, even though the crown jewels are pretend ‘for now’.
How would you feel if you received a Poundland proposal? We have to say, we’re much more of a fan of this trend than we are of the finger piercing engagement fad…
