Spring Wedding Flowers

Yon can save a pretty penny by ordering wedding flowers that are in season when you marry. Here are some of the most popular blooms for spring weddings:

Hydrangeas have large blooms that are in season in March, April and May. Generally available in a beautiful blue or pretty pink, you can also find them in red, purple, white or lavender-blue. Have them as the main element of your wedding flowers or mix with peonies and roses for a statement bouquet.

Tulips are the obvious spring flower. Holding a very simple bunch of hand-tied spring tulips as a wedding bouquet makes an understated style statement. Tulips also look wonderful mixed with other blooms. There are several different types of tulips with names that include ‘Queen of the Night’ and ‘Blushing Beauty’, and some can become droopy if you’re not careful with them so it’s always best to order from a good florist.

The Calla Lily is the classic trumpeted shaped flower, as dramatic as it is beautiful. Most often seen in white, the calla lily also comes in amazing shades of orange, yellow, green, pink, purple and even black.

Peonies, with their large round heads of petals are in season from mid-May and add a gorgeous soft, feminine look to your wedding flowers. Lilac bursts into life briefly from mid-spring to early summer with its delicate petals and sweet scent.
