We love nothing more than discovering wedding venues here at Confetti, so when Stoke Place invited us to come and take a closer look, we couldn’t wait to see what they have to offer.
The gorgeous brick building is nestled within 26 acres of beautiful parkland, including a picturesque lake. This Buckinghamshire wedding venue is just 30 minutes from London, making it the ideal country wedding venue choice for couples who want something away from the bustle of the city, but still easy to get to.
The first thing we noticed upon arrival was the amazing décor – this venue is definitely a serious contender for couples with eclectic taste. There are beautiful large windows overlooking the grounds everywhere, glittering antique chandeliers and sweeping staircases. The classic features are complemented by quirky patterned wallpaper, bold colour schemes and interesting decorative details.
If you’re looking for a historic wedding venue, Stoke Place definitely has a story to tell. It was built by royal chef Patrick Lamb in 1690 and has lots of fascinating details and a rich history of illustrious guests.
Their wedding facilities are the perfect blank canvas for couples to paint their personalities on to, but you can also incorporate the charming details of the house if you wish. You’ll have exclusive use of the venue, a dedicated wedding planner and space for up to 200 guests, should you opt for the main wedding space. But what caught our eye were the smaller spaces, for more intimate wedding dinners, decorated in striking colours with dazzling wallpaper, such as the Fly Fishing Room and the fabulously light and airy Lower Garden Room. Perfect for those looking for an unusual wedding venue!
Foodie couples will love the fact the culinary team on site are Michelin-recommended, and will work with newlyweds to create a bespoke wedding menu to suit their tastes. You can choose between a three, four or five course menu (we’ll go for five, thanks) as well as canapes and evening buffet options.
The restaurant manager, Mark, knows everything there is to know about the history of the venue and has plenty of great stories. He’ll be able to expertly advise on wine choices and knows the best cocktails to order from the downstairs bar.
If you book your wedding at Stoke Place, you’ll get a complimentary suite for the newlyweds – think huge four-poster beds, amazing views and free-standing baths – and 10 bedrooms at a reduced price on the night of the wedding, which includes a full English breakfast for two guests per room. There is also a set price for couples who choose to book all 39 bedrooms for their guests, payable by the guests on departure.
The hotel recently launched a new, super-affordable wedding package which allows you to have the wedding of your dreams at a budget-friendly price.
This wedding package for 2018 is priced at £99 per head. This has been a very popular offer and now only has limited availability, however they are still receiving requests for bookings this year.
