Today is a very exciting day in the world of weddings, as we’ve just learned that Fiona Cairns. the royal baker who made Kate Middleton and Prince William’s wedding cake, is selling wedding cakes at a price we can afford!
Fiona, who more recently made Pippa Middleton’s wedding cake as well as Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kingston’s wedding cake, just relaunched her website and is selling beautifully designed wedding cakes, with prices starting at £550 – which you’ll know is relatively reasonable.
The cakes, which are clearly fit for a princess, will be hand made and hand decorated, so it’s all very exciting!
See below for examples of the amazing cakes…
Prince William and Kate Middleton had a traditional eight-tier fruit wedding cake, covered in white icing and decorated with sugar flowers. The flowers reportedly symbolised the four nations of the United Kingdom—roses for England, thistle for Scotland, daffodils for Wales, and shamrocks for Ireland.
There were also other symbolic decorations, like an oak and acorn for endurance. And, in honor of her Prince William, the cake incorporated the flower Sweet William, which symbolizes gallantry, smile, and finesse.
The cakes Fiona is selling on her website will be equally as beautiful, complete with sugar craft peonies – the flower of the moment!
