Oh my goodness! There’s only a month to go! I realised this as I woke up this morning. How on earth will we pull everything together? I’m still finishing one of the bridesmaids’ dresses, and we have a hundred orders of service to sort out! ARGH!
However, all this stress still isn’t stopping us from getting excited. We can’t wait to be husband and wife ‐ and at the moment we’re looking forward to that more than the big day itself!
Luckily our families have been fantastic.
The week before…
We went down to see mum and dad this weekend, to finalise a few things and make sure everything was set up for next Saturday. We seem to have been going flat out for this wedding, and it still seems like we have mountains to do!
It’s all quite fun though… it’s almost as if we’ve reached the point of no return. We’ll be married next Saturday, whatever happens to the orders of service, or the hop bines, or the sleeves on the bridesmaids’ dresses!
In some ways, this week can’t go fast enough!
The day before…
We got up bright and early, and sped down to the Institute, to get going on the decorations. It took about five car‐loads of stuff, but we got all the decorations down to Bewdley in the end.
We spent hours putting up balloons and swags of material and hop‐bines, but once everything was in place, the room looked perfect. We had loads of help too ‐ Paul’s family came along to help us out, and half‐way through the day, our University friends arrived to lend a hand. Anj and Brady, and Laura and Andy, were all up ladders by the end of the afternoon, and finally ‐ finally ‐ everything looked great.
Now it’s time for me to go home and get ready to go out again. We’re having a few drinks with the folks down in the town, and something tells me we’ll need to let our hair down a bit before tomorrow!
