We met… at school.
First impressions of your husband… gorgeous eyes and really funny!
His first impressions of you… wow!
Your proposal was… which one? The last proposal was on my iPad wallpaper – it said “I love you, marry me”, but initially at 18 years old it was on the hoe in Plymouth on bent knee – we are childhood sweethearts!
My dress was… a Pronovias lace overlay dress, very fitted (almost fish tail) with satin sash, lace all over with tiny pearls and crystals. My beautiful jewellery was a gift from my mother-in-law.
How did Confetti.co.uk help in your big day? I ordered quite a few things from Confetti because of great prices and fast service – like disposable cameras, page boys/girls presents etc. I have received their email newsletter for years as it has always kept me up to date with what’s hot with weddings which helps me in the salon, and helped me with my wedding too. I have recommended it to lots of friends and clients.
Our bridesmaids/groomsmen were… we had two Best Men – Phil and Rob, best friends since school. We had 11 bridesmaids: my sister Sarah was Chief Bridesmaid, and then my nieces: Georgia, Olivia, Grace, Ellie, Megan, Alana, Isabella, Lilly, Madison, and our daughter Fern. We had 3 pageboys: our nephews Dylan, Auden and Jack, and 2 mini-nephew pageboys Henry and Seb. Our son Harry was the ring bearer. We also had two ushers: James and Nicholas.
What were your wedding theme/colours… soft shades of pink, nude, cream, and peach.
Our ceremony was… very small and personal with only immediate family and a few close friends. My mum, my niece and son read lovely readings which really made us proud.
We chose our venue because… the house was lovely, food excellent and the garden was perfect for the kids to run around and have fun!
What was your favourite part of the wedding? Walking up the aisle finally! Also, bottle of champagne on the way to the wedding! First dance, Ben’s and dad’s speech, fireworks, Harry’s reading… sooo many, I’d like to do it all again! One of the best days of our life for our little family.
Our first dance song was… Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You by Frankie Valli
What is your advice for other brides? Enjoy every moment as it flies by, things always overrun, some things you’ve just got to let go and enjoy, even though you’ve planned everything to the letter, there are some things that can’t be planned – go with the flow and enjoy!
