Christmas 2003.

Both stag and hen night held in the small village where we live, so all our friends could go.

Yes, great ideas for all aspects. The To Do List was very helpful.

Dark gold skirt. Bustier and wrap from Debenhams.
Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?
Yes, my daughter and niece wore ivory dresses.
Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?
He chose his best friends. They wore grey spirit kilts.
Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?
Religious ceremony (Celtic minister).

Kildonan Country House.
How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?
50 day time guests and another 150 evening guests.
Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?
Ivory and gold.
How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?
Small vases with flowers and ivory candles.
Did you give your guests favours?
Yes, small organza bags with ivory degrees.
Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?
Ivory and gold roses with thistles. Our florist was Lizette McLean Girvan.
What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?
Tiger prawn cocktail or soup. Chicken and haggis or roast beef or salad. Strawberries and cream or cheesecake.
What did you choose for your wedding cake, and who made it?
Two tiered round cake with ivory roses.
Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?
Entertainment in the evening was a two piece band plus groom’s five piece band played for an hour.
Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?
No.
Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?
We spent the first night at Kildonan Country House. We had our honeymoon in Tenerife and booked through Thomas Cook.
What was your most memorable moment of the day?
Getting piped into the champagne reception on the lawns which was a surprise put on by the caterer.
Did you experience any ‘nightmare’ moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?
No, luckily.
Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?
No. Try not to get stressed out before as the day will go so quickly. Just enjoy the run up to the wedding and the day.
