Helen and Rupert’s traditional summer wedding is sure to make you forget about the gloomy weather. AVA Images have beautifully captured this wedding with one glorious picture after another; from the wonderful shot of the sun beaming through the church window, to the breathtaking shot of our happy couple surrounded by the beautiful scenery of Dorset. You’ll all agree we’ve picked the right wedding to share this cold Friday!
Bride and Groom… Helen and Rupert
Wedding date… Saturday 29th September 2012
Length of engagement… 10 months
My dress was… an Essence, Australia gown and my shoes were from Giuseppe Zanotti.
Our wedding ceremony was… held at St John the Baptist, Broadwindsor, Dorset. It was a glorious sunny day, despite a week of torrential rain prior to our wedding day. With the sun beaming we were able to walk through the beautiful Dorset village of Broadwindsor to St John the Baptist Church. On the way to church one of the ushers ran towards us asking for my father’s car keys as the order of services were still in the car! They were retrieved and handed out before I got to the church. Not everything goes quite according to plan but no one noticed the late arrival of the order of services. Some minor ‘incidents’ may occur on your special day but there was no point worrying about it; either no one will notice or it all turns out good in the end!
Our wedding theme was… Relaxed traditional with a splash of purple

Our wedding reception was… held at Forde Abbey, Dorset. We all enjoyed the scenic tour through the Dorset countryside on the way to the amazing venue. Ford Abbey is a wonderful venue, it has the highest fountain in the UK, spectacular gardens and beautiful family owned Abbey (with horses in the fields).

Describe your reception… We had Drinks on the lawn, speeches in the Great Hall, greeting line through the orangery and the stunning ‘under croft’ for the wedding breakfast which had vaulted ceilings and was big enough for our 123 guests.
Our wedding cake was… homemade by our loving friends!
Our first dance was… Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton.
Our favourite part of the wedding was… seeing all our fantastic friends and family from all around the world and of course getting married.
