Laura and Andy had a gorgeously intimate and unconventional celebration in the heart of London – a real Soho city wedding on Saturday 6th May 2017, all captured in the most beautiful way by Douglas Fry Photography.
Soho City Wedding
The couple got ready at the Soho Hotel before moving down the road to the Soho Union Club for both their wedding ceremony and reception. The bride looked beautiful in a contemporary style sleeveless gown with her hair worn down over her shoulders, holding a simple bouquet of roses, while the groom wore a stylish navy suit with waistcoat and matching rose bud in his buttonhole.
Traditionally the bride and groom don’t meet on the wedding day until the alter for the big reveal. Instead, Laura’s soon-to-be husband Andy was waiting in the hotel downstairs to greet her as she came down, surrounded by those closest to the couple.
The two then shared a taxi ride to their venue which was conveniently located just minutes from the hotel, and entered the Union club together.
Laura and Andy made the most of their venue’s central location and went on an adventure through the quirky streets of Soho. The occupied streets, graffiti covered walls and cute cafes all added real character to the backdrops of their wedding photos.
Breaking with tradition yet again, Laura gave a beautiful speech in admiration of her new husband. This was followed by a speech from her Maid of Honour (not the best man) and then a classic speech from the groom.
Their evening celebrations were introduced by Andy’s singing and electric guitar playing along with the band. The cosy Union Club made an amazing venue for Andy and Laura’s wedding, the building is 270 years old and holds such character which was one of their favourite things about the place.
