How and when did you meet?

We met in Cornwall while we were both working at the same place.

How old are you both?

24 and 33.

Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?

Paul was going to propose during a romantic meal out, but they sat another couple really close to us, so Paul waited until we got home to propose!

Did you have hen and stag celebrations? If so, what did you do?

Paul went out the night before the wedding in St. Ives with a couple of mates and his brother. I went out for a girlie night in Manchester with my sister and a friend.

How did your groom help with the wedding planning?

He chose the suits and the cake.

Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?

The forums were invaluable for advice and help.

Do you have a confetti web page?

No.

Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?

I bought my evening invites from a Confetti store.

Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it

My dress was “Anita” from Pronuptia, Truro branch.

Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?

My sister was my only bridesmaid and she wore a matte gold silk two piece skirt and bodice.

Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?

The groom, best man and ushers wore dark brown suits with gold and cream accessories.

Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?

Civil.

Where did you hold your ceremony?

At Tregenna Castle Hotel, St Ives, Cornwall.

Where did you hold your reception?

Same as ceremony.

Did you have any special wedding transport?

I arrived in a blue and cream Bentley.

How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?

There were 56 all day guests and another 10 evening guests.

Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?

Our colour theme was gold, ivory and brown.

How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?

I hand made brown place cards with an ivory bow with a gold crystal in the centre for decoration.

Did you give your guests favours?

Yes, as it was Easter we gave each guest a miniature Lindt chocolate bunny.

Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?

My florist was Orchids of Redruth, who I used to work for! I had a bouquet of calla lilies, dendrobium orchids and freesia, and my sister carried a spray of calla lilies. The table decorations were tall, slim vases filled with gold sand and a spray of cream flowers on top.

What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?

We had a starter of leek and potato soup or pate, roast lamb or chicken for our main course, and strawberry and clotted cream baskets or chocolate torte for pudding.

What did you choose for your wedding cake, and who made it?

We had a three tier wedding cake made by “Cakes by Becky” in Newquay. The bottom tier was chocolate orange and cointreau, the middle tier was coconut white chocolate and cherry, and the top tier was fruit. It was ivory iced and decorated with fresh ivory roses and beads.

Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?

We had a DJ in the evening.

Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?

We didn’t have a gift list but we requested Debenhams vouchers

Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?

We spent the wedding night at the hotel we were married in. We spent our honeymoon in Mexico, booked with Airtours online.

What was your most memorable moment of the day?

Saying our vows.

Did you experience any ‘nightmare’ moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?

My sister’s partner almost got lost and didn’t turn up on the day with my little brother in the car!

Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?

Relax and enjoy the day. Take time to spend with each other.
