How did your partner (or you) propose?
We were on a romantic weekend away in York. He was carrying the ring around all day in his pocket trying to find the right moment to propose! He eventally proposed to me on the Saturday night when we got back to our hotel room ‐ after going out for dinner (too nervous to propose in front of everyone else in the pub!) and after we had climbed all the way (some 300 steps) to the top of York Minster ‐ but was too out of breath to propose there!
Who did you share the news of your engagement with first?
We went to see both sets of parents the next day on our way home as we wanted to tell them in person and not over the phone. We then went to see Andy’s sister and brother‐in‐law and my best friend. My dad already knew what was coming though as Andy had asked his permission a few weeks before!

Slim, white gold band with solitaire diamond ‐ it’s simply beautiful.
Did you help choose the ring?
No ‐ Andy did it all by himself and he made an excellent choice! I was most impressed ‐ he even got the size right!
Will your partner wear an engagement ring as well?
Andy would like one ‐ we just have to go and find one for him!

We haven’t had our engagement party yet although we are planning to have one soon

What are you looking forward to the most about planning a wedding?
I’m looking forward to shopping for and choosing a dress and we are excited about finding our perfect venue.
