We decided to spend Valentine’s Day in Paris. In fact, we decided to spend a week there. On Valentine’s Day itself, we spent a romantic afternoon walking through the streets and the Parisian parks, seeing the famous landmarks and taking in the breathtaking sights. Later in the afternoon, we climbed the Eiffel Tower. When we got to the top, Scott proposed and I accepted, but the romance didn’t end there. We made our way back to the hotel to prepare for dinner and on the bed, waiting for me was the largest bunch of flowers you have ever seen – but the romance continued.We went out to the restaurant and ordered our food while the band started to play. To our surprise, the first song the band played was “Nothing’s gonna change my love for you” by Glenn Medeiros – the first record Scott ever gave me. I asked him if he had asked the band to play it, but he hadn’t.We have put it down to fate throwing us together and making sure we stay together, but that’s not difficult. In Paris, we were ecstatically happy and today, eight years later, we are still as happy and our memories of Paris are just as fresh as the day we were there. I still have my ticket for the Eiffel Tower. I don’t believe anybody could ever have such a romantic day and I am just grateful I experienced it.
