 Natasha and Ross

real-wedding

01/09/2006 – Belvedere Baptist Church, Belvedere, Kent
The Sportsman, Erith.

How and when did you meet?

Ross and I met at my friend’s 21st. My friend, Kerryn, was also there and she had dragged her brother, Ross, along. We started chatting and clicked straight away.

How old are you both?

I’m 24 and Ross is 27.

Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?

Ross proposed on one knee on our balcony on our first holiday in Zante, Greece on October 3rd 2004.

Did you have hen and stag celebrations? If so, what did you do?

I went to a Greek taverna with all my friends and family and danced on the tables! Ross went Greyhound racing with friends and family.

How did your groom help with the wedding planning?

He agreed with everything I picked out! And supported me during any problems we encountered!

Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?

Yes, I was addicted to the forum and loved looking at the real life section.

Do you have a confetti web page?

Yes.

Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?

I got a few bits for the reception-bubbles and ribbon etc.

Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it

My dress was from Together Forever Bridal in Crayford-they were so helpful and friendly. My dress was white, ball gown style with a lace up bodice top, encrusted with beads, the skirt was full with layers of tulle and embroidered with pink and silver stitching and more beads and sequins, this also continued down the very long train!

Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?

I had three bridesmaids. My cousin was my matron of honour and she wore a pink prom dress from Betsy and Adam, and my sisters wore pink and white dresses that were custom made from Needles and Pinza in Erith. My page boy wore a mini suit.

Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?

Ross chose his best friend, Stuart, as best man and my brother and cousin were ushers. They hired black morning suits with pink accessories from Burtons.

Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?

Religious.

Where did you hold your ceremony?

Belvedere Baptist Church, Belvedere, Kent

Where did you hold your reception?

The Sportsman, Erith.

Did you have any special wedding transport?

Yes, we hired a Princess van de plas.

How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?

We had 50 guests for the day, and an extra 80 in the evening.

Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?

Just pink and hearts where possible!

How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?

We had pink tablecloths, pink and silver table confetti, and pink balloon centre pieces.

Did you give your guests favours?

No, instead we filled plastic champagne glasses with pink and silver choc hearts and put them on the tables.  The children were given rabbit shaped favour boxes with white choc buttons in them.

Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?

We all had ivory and pink roses. I had a tear drop bouquet and the bridesmaids had hand tied posies. Our florist called Paula, also decorated our cake.

What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?

The venue took care of all of the catering and we had a fork buffet for the sit down consisting of hot and cold meats, dressed salmon, salads, etc and a finger buffet in the evening.

What did you choose for your wedding cake, and who made it?

We got the cakes from Marks and Spencer. And our florist decorated it.

Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?

We had a disco in the evening so everyone could have a boogie!

Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?

We had one with Argos and one with Next.

Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?

Our honeymoon wasn’t until September and we went to Lake Garda, Italy.
My grandparents paid for the honeymoon suite on our wedding night at our local Marriott hotel.

What was your most memorable moment of the day?

There were so many….
My granddad’s speech, my husband’s speech, my cousin break dancing, Ross and his best man and brother dancing to Queen on the stage…the list continues.

Did you experience any ‘nightmare’ moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?

Our outside caterers cancelled six weeks before-luckily our venue could fit us in! Also my hairdresser phoned in sick on the morning of the wedding-argh-so that was a nightmare, but was fine in the end!

Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?

Don’t stress! Enjoy every moment as it goes so quickly. Have a guestbook-it makes great reading and make sure you get someone to video it, even if it’s not professional. My dad did a fab job.
