Nicola and Neil Real Engagement Story

Well, I didn’t ACTUALLY propose, BUT I bought the ring before he had!I went to India in November 1998 with a friend of mine for three weeks. I knew I’d miss my boyfriend terribly. Well, whilst in India, Diane and I went to Agra and spent time at the Taj Mahal. Wow, was it romantic! I was overcome with emotion and wanted Neil to be with me…Later that evening, we visited various jewellers’. I saw the perfect engagement ring. I felt so in love at the time, I bought it on my credit card, thinking HOW will I break the news on returning home?Well, Neil and I were so pleased to see each other after the three-week separation. I coyly said….” Um…whilst in Agra, having seen the most romantic, beautiful building…I ummmm… bought this lovely shiney round thing. Can I show it to you?Well, to cut to an agonising month or so later, Neil proposed (down on one knee in the restaurant where we first met) on 1 January 1999. We’re due to marry on 1 July 2000. Can’t wait!
