How and when did you meet?

Seven years ago at Godalming College.

How old are you both?

24 and 23.

Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?

By a moonlight pool in Tunisia in April 2005.

Did you have hen and stag celebrations? If so, what did you do?

Yes! I was taken to the New Forest for pampering and a big girls’ night out in Southampton. He went on a golfing break in Devon.

How did your groom help with the wedding planning?

He had some very strong ideas about the wedding and everything was (mostly)a joint decision.

Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?

I used other people’s weddings to give me inspiration in the early stages. We brought all the decorations from confetti. Also it is just a nice girly website to visit and gain ideas.

Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?

We bought online and went to the new Reading store.

Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it

My dress was from Pronuptia in Woking. It is a beautiful ivory dress with organza overlay, with a few sparkles and pearls.

Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?

I had four bridesmaids, my little sister (Chief Bridesmaid), my sister in law, my friend from college, and my friend from university. My brave mother made all the dresses!

Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?

He choose his two best friends from college. He also asked my brothers to be ushers.

Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?

Religious.

Where did you hold your ceremony?

St. Bartholomew’s Church, Haslemere,Surrey

Where did you hold your reception?

The Georgian Hotel, Haslemere, Surrey

Did you have any special wedding transport?

An Alvis – a very beautiful car.

How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?

We had about 70 day guests and another 55 guests for the evening.

Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?

Hot pink.

How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?

Lots of pink confetti, ribbon, chair covers, flowers, etc.

Did you give your guests favours?

Yes – boxes of almonds and chocolate hearts from Confetti.

Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?

My bouquet was ivory roses with diamantes in the roses.
The bridesmaids’ bouquets were calla lilies with bear grass trail.
The buttonholes were roses and the corsages were freesia.

What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?

The hotel did the catering. Salad, pork with potato gratin and meringue with summer fruits, coffee and mints.

What did you choose for your wedding cake, and who made it?

Cranleigh Celebration Cakes. It was a three tier chocolate cake – white with pink dots.

Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?

In the evening, we had a chocolate fountain.

Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?

Debenhams.

Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?

At the hotel. Our honeymoon was fab! We went on the QM2 from Southampton to New York (6 nights) – two nights at The Hilton New York and five nights in Basin Harbor Country Club in Vermont.

What was your most memorable moment of the day?

My dad’s Speech! Very funny.

Did you experience any ‘nightmare’ moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?

No – I planned and planned and planned some more!

Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?

Don’t stress! Also don’t worry if things go wrong, such as weather, because you can’t do a thing about it. Just enjoy yourself.
