Vicky and Neil Real Engagement Story

I had been planning this engagement for months before the big day. Vic and I have been going out for 4 years and have recently moved into our first home together. For her Christmas present this year I bought her tickets to see Robbie Williams ( her favourite ) live in Paris. Last weekend we headed off to Paris on a two night break. The first day was taken up with the concert.

The second day was sightseeing and letting the romantic charm of Paris in the Spring work it magic. We strolled through parks, arm in arm, shopped in the Champs Eleysee, visited the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower I would have loved to have gone up but the queues were huge and we only had a day. So off we headed to the Left bank, were street artists mingle with scholars in the bustling cafe’s and restaurants.
We finally headed back to our hotel at around five. During the day we had been looking out for a restaurant to enjoy some fine French cuisine. The bustling avenues of the Left bank seemed an ideal place. We headed into the town centre on the Metro and got off in the left bank and set off to find a bar. Sitting together we watched the crowds bustling by and chatted. It was about half eight and we were getting hungry so we decided to go and find a restaurant I led the way through the streets. The restaurants all looked lovely, but I had a one particular restaurant in mind. The tiny side street we were in suddenly gave way onto a main road. I saw a Taxi and jumped in giving my instructions to the Taxi driver. Vic wasa little confused, but she climbed in and the Taxi driver sped off into the night.

The journey didn’t take long and before we knew it we were at the foot of the Eiffel tower. " I thought we better come and see it lit up" I said as we wandered across the base of the tower. We reached the base and wandered in through a side gate. We entered the liftand went up to the first floor into the Restaurant there. We were shown to our table, only now did Vic realise that everything was booked up. After a fantastic meal overlooking the splendour that is Paris by night, I got down on one knee. I had been thinking of what to say for weeks but at that moment I could only blurt out "will you marry me?" then I cried. She instantly said yes. I then gave her the ring that I had in my pocket the whole evening.

The head waiter appeared with Champagne and the most special moment in my life was achieved. We were both so happy! To crown a perfect evening as we left the Tower to go home it started to snow. It was so romantic walking arm in arm back to the metro stop. That is how I did it and this is only the abridged version.
