Toast Examples For Best Man Speeches

A best man’s wedding speech traditionally finishes with a toast to the bride and groom, where you encourage everyone to have a drink and wish them all the best for their future. Putting that into words is easy with these toast examples that you can adapt and use. Just remember to change the names!

“So I’d like you all to charge your glasses and join me in toasting the new Mr and Mrs Brown. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the bride and groom.”

“Wishing them all the health, wealth and happiness in the world, I’d like you all to join me in toasting the happy couple. Ladies and Gentlemen, the bride and groom.”

“Now it only remains for me to get you all on your feet. And with charged glasses [pause] I’d like you to join me in toasting the new Mr and Mrs Roberts. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the wonderful bride and groom.”

“And now all I have left to do is to say what a privilege it is to ask everyone here to charge their glasses and – for those of you who still can! – to rise to your feet. Ladies and Gentlemen… the bride and groom.”

“Ladies and Gentlemen, will you please join me now in toasting two young – well, quite young! – people who have everything, because [looks at couple] you love each other. Ladies and gentlemen, the lucky couple.”

“To finish with some words from the bard: “Love comforteth like sunshine after rain.” So, you two, I hope your marriage is full of intermittent drizzle, followed by days of blistering heat. To the bride and groom.”

“To the adorable couple: Mark and Lisa.”

“Jerry – my best friend – some words of advice in the form of a wise old poem. “To keep a marriage brimming with love in the loving cup, when you are wrong, admit it and when you are right, shut up!” To Jerry and Claire!”

“Here’s to the two things that – without doubt – make a great marriage. Here’s to a good sense of humour, and selective hearing. Ladies and gentlemen – the bride and groom.”

“Before we toast the happy couple, here’s to wives and lovers everywhere – and to them never, ever meeting!”

“I’d like to end by toasting the bride and groom. But just before I do, I’d like to some lines from a song to the groom, Richard. The song was written many years ago but the lyrics, I believe, are still meaningful today. [Speak the words, with no tune] “She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And with a love like that, you know you should be glad. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the bride and groom.”

“I asked my dad, joker that he is, what type of toast I should do at the wedding and he replied: “French”. Bon, sans vous faire attendre un instant de plus, Mesdames et Messieurs, je vous presente… Monsieur et Madame Jones. Les nouveaux maries! A John et Jude!”

“Before I offer a toast to Tony and Marie, I’d like to leave you with one thought: you don’t marry someone you can live with, you marry someone you can’t live without. In this case, these two really have married the right person. To the bride and groom.”
