Green and White Spring Weddings

Green and white is a classic wedding colour scheme. It’s clean and fresh and comes in many strengths and shades. Here are some of our favourite ways to create a stunning spring wedding.

The obvious choice for a green and white spring wedding is an outdoorsy theme (rustic, woodland, bohemian, wanderlust, etc) as it’s something of an earthy colour scheme. Couples looking to use it traditionally use of lots of plants and other greenery. But it’s also a very versatile colour scheme that can be moulded to any theme—even glamorous, if you make use of twinkling glassware and acrylic crystal decorations.

What to Wear

The entire bridal party right through the bride, groom, bridesmaids, ushers and beyond can take part in your green and white wedding. Dresses can be a full green or white, or a softer fade of colour, and suits can be accessorised with waistcoats and ties, handkerchiefs and pocket squares.

Wedding Decor

First, decide what ratio of green to white you want your wedding to have. With less green your wedding will look classic and clean, but with more green your wedding will be colourful and vibrant. Don’t forget to use different hues, too. Too much of one colour risks making everything look a bit flat. Once you have your colour ratio, set about your decor with layers and textures—high centrepieces next to low place settings, and glassware contrasted with leafy plant life.

Wedding Flowers

The easiest way to complete your green and white wedding is to use lots of flowers with big leaves and pretty blooms. White roses are a popular wedding flower already, but also consider peonies, dahlias, baby’s breath (gypsophila) and even lilies.

Wedding Favours

You can’t go wrong with edible and drinkable wedding favours—stick with your green and white colour scheme with apples and colourful martinis, or consider green-and-white packaging, from pretty boxes and containers to tags and accessories. But other favour ideas that work beautifully for a green and white wedding are anything to do with plants. For example, give your guests a flower cutting or some seeds to plant.

Wedding Stationery

Your stationery can be created with white or green designs, or you can add some of your own; accessorise with ribbon, charms, and cuttings of leaves and flowers.

Add Another Colour

Adding another colour (or colours) to be used very sparingly can really help your green and white wedding pop whether it’s through flowers or motifs or small decorative accessories. One of the easiest ways to accomplish this is through your wedding catering. The food you serve at your wedding can do a whole lot more than taste good—it can look good with your colour scheme too. Fruit, vegetables, sauces, and herbs, spices and edible flowers add a huge yet subtle spectrum of colour to your wedding.
