The countdown is on until #YourBigDay winners Natalie and Kriss celebrate their big day, when they – and 8 guests – will be jetting off to sunny Cyprus to become man and wife. Last week, you helped to decide on the colour and theme for the big day, with coral beach – a tropical mix of pink, coral and orange hues – taking the top spot. This week, it’s time to shine the spotlight on where they’ll be saying their I do’s – the Constantinou Bros Athena Beach Hotel on the island’s west coast.
Location-wise, it’s right next to a sand-and-shingle beach and 5 minutes’ drive from the harbourside bars and tavernas in Paphos. Ceremonies here take place in one of the hotel’s gazebos – they’re both set in pretty gardens, and overlook the Mediterranean Sea. Receptions can be indoors or outside on the terrace, and you can have anything from a gourmet menu spread to a laid-back barbecue buffet for your wedding breakfast.
As for accommodation, Natalie and Kriss will be celebrating their nuptials with a fortnight in a private pool suite room (yep, it’s as plush as it sounds). As for the sea-view infinity pool on the terrace, it’s the stuff honeymoon dreams are made of.
If the happy couple tire of their own pool (hey, it could happen), then the hotel has 3 more curving through the gardens, each with a whirlpool bath on the side. There’s a swanky spa for couples’ massages and steam baths. And the restaurant count – there are 6 in total – includes sea-view venues and al fresco à la cartes. All in all, it’s a pretty perfect spot for a wedding in the sun.
