On 2nd September 2016 Jessica and Ed Brown held their super stylish wedding at Clevedon Hall, a Grade II listed mansion near Bristol. Built in 1852 and set in several acres of picturesque gardens overlooking a lake, Clevedon Hall combines stunning historic architecture with the height of modern luxury since its recent £4 million refurbishment. The wedding was beautifully photographed by Brad Wakefield Photography.
Jessica and Ed had planned to hold their ceremony outside but when the weather broke the ceremony was held inside. Jessica told me, “We loved the look and feel of the decor and felt that it was the perfect wedding venue, whether indoors or outdoors! The main draw for us was the food, as their Michelin-trained executive chef Alan Jones and his team proved to be amazing; there isn’t a set menu to choose from, they actually create the menu around you!”
Stylish Wedding at Clevedon Hall
The wedding ceremony took place in the Dame Rosa Burdon room, followed by a wedding reception in the Grand Library. Jessica made the wedding cake, a tower of macarons and all the signage herself, with stationery by Feather and Flourish, flowers by Floriography and wedding styling by Kirsten Butler, The Little Wedding Helper. Jessica and Ed stayed in the Barn Owl suite at Clevedon Hall.
About Clevedon Hall
Clevedon Hall is a truly stunning wedding venue with a new outdoor wedding space unveiled last summer. Couples can now say their vows under a beautiful wooden gazebo with sweeping views down over the lake, towards the sea. Clevedon itself is a very pretty Victorian seaside town with a pier and can be seen in the films The Remains of the Day (1993) and, more recently, Never Let Me Go (2010).
Weddings can be hosted in the Great Hall or Grand Library, with its intriguing secret passage to an underground space, while smaller weddings work well in the Conrad Finzel or Dame Rosa Burden rooms. The very beautiful Orangery provides a lovely light, open and airy space with large floor to ceiling windows and views of the gardens. The venue can cater for up to 200 guests during the day and 250 in the evening. It now has twenty five elegant bedrooms and suites, some with additional lounges and dressing rooms, many with gorgeous free-standing slipper baths, every one unique in its exquisite styling.
