Spring flowers
Spring time is perfect for Lily of the Valley and with its delicate bell shaped flowers and lovely scent. Seasonal spring flowers include tulips in bright pinks, oranges, yellows and reds, pretty anemones with their black centres and vibrant coloured petals, bright or pastel yellow daffodils and mimosa, hyacinths and narcissus. For late spring weddings also include dramatic open-headed peonies, romantic roses, pretty sweet peas and lovely lilac.
Table centrepieces
Floral centrepieces will never go out of style as they make a beautiful, sweet scented focal point to your reception tables. A tall and elegant vase or jug of spring flowers will give height while a low floral or candle arrangement will give guests the space to talk across the tables. Ornamental bird cages and wire crowns filled with blooms make a real statement.

Lighting and lanterns
Lighting brings a glow to your wedding reception and while a spring wedding may be light and bright in the daytime when evening falls the gentle glow of candle light is far more romantic than ceiling spot lights will ever be. Fairylights are sweet and pretty while candles inside lanterns can look exotic. Add floating scented candles and small flowers to water in low coloured glass bowls for spectacular table centrepieces.

Petals and plants
Spring is the time when everything comes alive again. Give seed strips to each guest as favours so they can grow their own flowers as a reminder of your special day or decorate the tables with tiny planters of green or flowering herbs for friends and family to take away. Add each guest’s name so they double up as place card-favours and you may have just saved yourself some money too. Real petals can be thrown as confetti or sprinkled on reception tables to add colour and scent to great effect.

Place cards and planners
It’s fun making your own table planner and there are now all sorts of beautiful spring butterfly, bird and dragonfly place cards to perch elegantly on each guest’s glass to bring a real feeling of nature in springtime to your reception tables. Add a guest book for your guests to write their well wishes to you both or give individual cards to be hung on a wishing tree or posted into a special box.
