Upstairs, The Lawn offers two complimentary bridal suites allowing you to prepare for the big day at the venue in peace and quiet. They offer ample, comfortable space for you, your bridesmaids and any hair or make-up artists you may have, with one featuring a large balcony overlooking the stunning floodlit fountain in its three acres of landscaped garden.
After your wedding service or ceremony, and with the weather smiling, you and your guests can enjoy reception drinks on the 100ft colonnaded Terrace which also boasts a fully stocked bar. If the weather is not so fantastic, The Lawn staff will greet your guests inside in the Blue Drawing Room. The Blue Room is the perfect place for your guests to relax with plenty of comfortable chairs and a working fireplace for those really cold days. It also offers a pleasant refuge for your younger or older guests who might need a rest from the dance floor later in the evening.
As well as connecting with the Club Room dance floor, the Blue Room leads onto The Grand Hall. This is the central space of the manor and is where the majority of the Civil Ceremonies are conducted. Sweeping from the Gallery to the Grand Hall is a superb and impressive staircase, complete with an antique grandfather clock, allowing you to really make an entrance! This room can seat up to 100 guests comfortably, allowing your friends and family to share in this spectacular day.
Following the drinks reception, The Lawn’s front-of-house Manager will call your guests through to The Lawn’s naturally lit, fully temperature controlled Orangery for a divine wedding breakfast – all prepared from scratch in the Manor’s kitchens. This Orangery is a stunning and relatively new addition to the Georgian Manor offering a wonderfully flexible space for anywhere from 30 – 130 guests. Although a modern build with all the latest amenities, The Orangery’s design is very much in line with the Georgian idiom and has not compromised The Lawn’s Listed Building status as it is a truly beautiful and accurate addition to the Manor.
Following the wedding breakfast, the evening party is centred around the Grand Hall which acts as the hub with the Blue Room, Club Room (dance floor) and fully stocked Bar all spoking off it. It could almost have been designed as a purpose-built party space where everything hangs together and just flows. Perfect.
The location of The Lawn is perfect. It is so close to train stations and even an airport (for guests travelling that little bit further), yet it is still located in the tranquil countryside of Rochford. Finding such a peaceful and beautiful venue with such amazing travel links is nearly impossible. Should you really want to enjoy the wow factor, why not make use of The Lawn’s helipad or perhaps arrive in a horse-drawn carriage? This rural setting also means that there isn’t a noise limit, meaning that your music can be at whatever volume you like, right up to midnight.
