Once called ‘the most beautiful house in England’, Brympton House is an exclusive-use wedding venue in Somerset with a different space for every part of your day. A stunning manor house with an outdoor terrace, impressive state dining room and even a 14th century church on site.
Civil Ceremonies
For civil ceremonies there is a choice of either the romantic Castle House, or for an outdoor ceremony, The Temple. Castle House is a medieval, building dating back to 1350 with a long aisle leading up to a beautiful arched window. Adjacent to the manor house, it seats up to 150 guests (with room for more seating if necessary) and has double doors at the end of the building for guests to spill out onto the stunning South Terrace for a drinks reception overlooking the lake.
For outdoor weddings, The Temple is an imposing 18th century structure that has been on the South Terrace at Brympton House since the 1930’s. Say your vows under the pretty façade while guests sit on elegant white chairs on the terrace. This is a beautiful, picturesque setting with the house on one side, and the extensive grounds and lake on the other.
Church Ceremonies
Brympton Manor has the Church of St. Andrews, dating back to 1320, located in its grounds for religious weddings or Church of England blessings. Following your ceremony, you could host your drinks reception beside a roaring fire in the Elizabethan Great Hall with its baby grand piano and ample space for a harpist or string quartet.
Function Rooms for your Wedding Breakfast
There is a choice of three function rooms available for your wedding breakfast, depending on how many guests you need to seat:
The State Dining Room, which seats sixty, is perfect for an intimate gathering. The room is sumptuously decorated with red silk-lined walls and lit entirely by candlelight.
The Ballroom is an elegant room filled with Edwardian grandeur that seats up to 228 seated guests. The ballroom is filled with natural sunlight through the large stunning windows that frame an amazing view of the lake from above.
The Salon seats 100 guests and joins through to the Library bar where guests can mingle in a more relaxed environment.
Bedrooms and Bell Tents
Brympton House provides luxury bedroom suites with a variety of options available to suit different guests. They have a total of 26 guest rooms including the honeymoon suite, accommodating 60 guests. All rooms are beautifully furnished with country house themed furniture, along with crisp white linens. The room rate also includes an impressive buffet breakfast for all of your guests.
Brides are welcome to spend the night before the wedding in the honeymoon suite so she and her bridesmaids can prepare for the big day in a calm and relaxed environment together.
If you would like to sleep more than the maximum of 60 guests, Brympton House offers the option to hire amazing bell tents to offer your guests an experience they’ll never forget, sleeping in luxury under the stars in the heart of the Brympton estate.
